Ex-Wolves winger Dave Thomas goes to print on his battle with blindness

Former Wolves winger Dave Thomas has spoken of how his life changed the day he received a letter from the DVLA informing him he was no longer allowed to drive. This was no self-inflicted punishment due to misdemeanours on the road; Thomas had become the first registered blind former England international. The year was 2008, 24 years after he had hung up his boots and at a time of his life when the then 58-year-old should have been looking to make the most of his retirement. Ireland could have qualified on Tuesday night but they failed to fire in the first half of a 2-0 defeat to Switzerland. Haris…

Traore is like a new signing for Wolves – Thommo

Andy Thompson believes Wolves flier Adama Traore is like a new signing. Traore has benefitted from extended coaching on the training ground with boss Nuno Espirito Santo and his team and has started to look a different player this season. The 23-year-old is harnessing his stunning pace to add an end product – as we saw with his two goals to beat Manchester City. Traore’s improvement has come despite him operating in three positions – right wing back or a four or five-man midfield, striker or right-sided forward of a front three. Thompson made a career out of being versatile…
