Wolves’ squad returned from their pre-season training camp at St George’s Park on Friday – following a behind-closed-doors friendly against Huddersfield Town.
The majority of Nuno Espirito Santo’s first-team at the FA’s base played some of the 90 minutes, including captain Conor Coady, midfielder Joao Moutinho and forward Diogo Jota.
The game against the recently-relegated Terriers concluded a productive week for Wolves, who will now return to Wolverhampton to continue preparations for the Asia Trophy in China. Wolves have spent the last five days at the luxury England training base after reporting back to Compton more than a week ago for the start of testing as part of their pre-season preparations.
Their first game in the four-team Asia Trophy is against Newcastle on July 17, followed by another match three days later against either Manchester City or West Ham.
While their team-mates have had their summer break and are preparing for the forthcoming campaign, two more Wolves players are finished and still have one game left respectively before they can relax.
Utility man Romain Saiss is finally set for his summer break after Morocco were knocked out of the African Cup of Nations. Morocco drew 1-1 with Benin on Friday in Cairo to force the tie into extra-time but Morocco lost 4-1 on penalties. Saiss again played at centre back in a 4-3-3 formation.
