Departed Wolves managing director Laurie Dalrymple has responded to the announcement of his shock exit by thanking supporters and wishing the team all the best.
Dalrymple took to Twitter on Thursday evening, to address his 15,500 followers after being bombarded with goodwill messages since the club announced he was leaving with immediate effect on Wednesday tea-time.
The Molineux supremo left after his relationship with the board broke down over a number of issues. He has been placed on gardening leave, and, as expected, gave nothing away by way of explanation for his sudden departure.
He tweeted: “In the past 24 hours I’ve been inundated with messages of support and best wishes for me and my family. Thank you so much! I’ve read them all! I’ve loved every minute of my time at Wolves and I hope I leave the club in a stronger place.
“I cannot provide any further comment about my departure, but for now, I wish Nuno, the team, the amazing staff and the fans the best of luck for the season ahead”. He then signed off with a wolf emoji.
