Wolves goalkeeping coach sent to Coventry

Wolves have announced Under-23 goalkeeper coach Aled Williams has joined League One side Coventry City as head of goalkeeping. The 35-year-old was part of the coaching staff which helped Wolves Under-23s become Premier League 2 Division 2 champions this season. He will now join Mark Robins’ staff at the Sky Blues to pursue his aim of coaching at first-team level. Parkes – I hope Coady breaks my Wolves record, but I doubt it!

Wolves favourite Phil Parkes hopes his appearance record goes to Conor Coady – but believes the Molineux captain will struggle to overtake his milestone. Coady is the only player in the country to have played every minute of every Premier League game in 2018-19. The 26-year-old sweeper has totted up an impressive 73 consecutive League outings in gold and black, and 65 in league and cup. Goalkeeper Parkes holds the record for consecutive appearances for the club with 171 in all competitions, and 123 in the League, set between September 1970 and September 1973.
