Wolves Under-23s midfielder Elliot Watt is part of the Scotland Under-19s squad aiming to make history over the next week.
The Preston-born 19-year-old is part of Billy Stark’s 20-man squad seeking to qualify for the UEFA Under-19s European Championship for only the second time in the team’s history.
The Scots are in Portugal for three UEFA Elite Round fixtures in pursuit of a first appearance at the tournament for 13 years, as they look to overcome the hosts and defending champions for a place at this summer’s finals in Armenia.
They kick off against Turkey tomorrow (Wednesday, 2pm) at Dr Machado de Matos, before facing Cyprus on Saturday (3pm) at Estadio do Rio Ave.
Scotland conclude the three matches by taking on the hosts next Tuesday (4.15pm) at Estadio do Bessa XXI.
Only the group winner progresses to battle it out for the European title in July.
Watt, a regular in Rob Edwards’s Wolves Under-23s team, is one of only four English-based players in the party, with Bournemouth defender Brennan Camp, Chelsea midfielder Billy Gilmour and Jack Burroughs, another midfielder, from Coventry City.
